Meta Platforms Inc.Meta launches paid AI model Muse Spark 1.1, generating new revenue from developer usage fees.

Meta Platforms unveiled an updated version of its text and reasoning AI model, Muse Spark 1.1, on the 9th and began offering it to developers on a paid basis. Pricing is set at one dollar twenty-five per million input tokens and four dollars twenty-five per million output tokens, which is higher than OpenAI's entry-level model GPT-5 Mini and Anthropic's low-cost model Claude Haiku 4.5, but lower than Anthropic's high-end model Claude Sonnet 4.6. Muse Spark 1.1 is capable of writing and debugging code, using software and external tools, and understanding text, images, and video, and can execute complex multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention. Meta is adopting a business model of charging for AI model usage to compete with Anthropic and OpenAI.
