Meta Platforms Inc.Revenue forecast midpoint of $62.5B missed analyst expectations of $63.2B, and earnings miss partly reflects one-time expenses.

D.A. Davidson head of technology research Gil Luria described Meta Platforms' third quarter revenue forecast as barely passable, noting the guidance midpoint of 62.5 billion dollars fell short of the 63.2 billion dollars analysts expected. Luria said the company barely met expectations for the second quarter and that the earnings miss may partly reflect one-time expenses and taxes. He highlighted that Meta only slightly increased capital expenditures and that cash flow was slightly positive. Luria maintained a buy rating, arguing that AI is driving 28% growth in Meta's ad business, nearly double Google's rate, and that the company may soon monetize excess data center capacity at nearly 100% margins.
