Meta Platforms shares surged 6.7% in afternoon trading after the company launched Muse, a new artificial intelligence agent designed to handle consumer tasks such as sending emails, booking reservations, and managing purchases. The offering includes a free tier alongside $20 and $100 subscription tiers, providing a direct framework to monetize the technology. Mizuho analyst Lloyd Walmsley noted that the release represents a meaningful step toward demonstrating positive financial returns on Meta's substantial AI capital expenditures. Meta is flat since the beginning of the year, and at $655.03 per share, it is trading 16% below its 52-week high of $780.25 from September 2025.
