Microchip Technology IncMicrochip introduced a new space-grade clock generator, enhancing its product portfolio for aerospace/defense.

Microchip Technology has introduced the DSA504RT, a space-grade, radiation-tolerant programmable clock generator with six outputs designed for aerospace and defense applications. The device simplifies timing architecture by generating multiple clean, phase-aligned frequencies from a single master source, reducing component count and power consumption while enhancing system reliability. It incorporates an Analog Phase-Locked Loop with spread spectrum capability, two fractional dividers, two integer dividers, and six configurable output buffers supporting LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL, or CMOS standards, delivering ultra-low jitter of 200 femtoseconds and PCIe Gen 1-7 compliance. Available in QFN28 and CQFP32 packages, the DSA504RT serves as a companion device for complex systems using radiation-tolerant or radiation-hardened FPGAs and MCUs, enabling highly integrated clock architectures on a single chip. Microchip aims to deliver premium timing performance while lowering bill of materials and screening costs, keeping customers within its radiation-qualified ecosystem.
