Micron CEO says humanoid robots will drive a multi-decade memory demand cycle, with robots using 10x memory of L2+ vehicles.

Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said humanoid robots will create a sustained, substantial, multi-decade memory demand cycle beginning in the latter part of this decade. He noted that humanoid robots carry 10 times the amount of memory as an average L2+ vehicle, which already uses more than five times as many memory chips as a typical car today. Bank of America predicts the global humanoid robot population could reach 300 million by 2040 and top 3 billion by 2060. This new market could help Micron reduce the cyclicality that has historically weighed on its valuation.
