Micron Technology IncDRAM market share up to 25% and sales rose fivefold on AI server demand.
Micron Technology shares surged nearly 6% on Tuesday after the company increased its global DRAM market share to 25% in the second quarter, up from 22%. Samsung Electronics remains the leader with about 39%, while SK Hynix holds 26%, putting Micron within striking distance of the second spot. DRAM accounts for almost 80% of Micron's total revenue, and quarterly DRAM sales rose roughly fivefold from a year ago, driven by AI server demand for high-bandwidth memory. Counterpoint Research analyst Neil Shah believes Micron has a realistic chance of overtaking SK Hynix. Despite the rally, Micron trades at $894.03, about 60% above its GF Value of $558.38, leaving little margin for error if AI demand cools.
