Micron Technology IncMicron reported blowout Q3 earnings and strong guidance, far exceeding analyst estimates.
Micron Technology shares soared 18.9% in June after the company reported fiscal third-quarter results that crushed expectations and issued strong guidance, but the stock has since tumbled roughly 19.6% from its lifetime high as investors rotated out of AI chip stocks. For the quarter ended May 28, Micron posted revenue of $41.46 billion, far above the $35.84 billion analyst consensus, and adjusted earnings per share of $25.11 versus the $20.78 estimate. The company also forecast approximately $50 billion in revenue for the current quarter, well ahead of the roughly $43.58 billion analysts had projected. Despite the stellar report, Micron shares have fallen about 4.3% in July amid a broader shift from AI hardware to software plays and news that Meta Platforms is launching an AI processing service, which investors interpreted as a sign of excess compute capacity that could weigh on chip demand.
