Memory shortages driven by AI GPU demand boost Micron's product demand.

Micron Technology is a major long-term holding in billionaire David Tepper’s Appaloosa Management portfolio. The fund has held a position in the memory giant since the fourth quarter of 2016, during which time the average share price has surged from $18.78 to $391 in the first quarter of 2026. Appaloosa’s latest stake is worth $562 million. The company’s accelerating fortunes are driven by memory-industry shortages stemming from AI GPU demand, and on June 10th it selected an engineering partner for a leading-edge memory manufacturing facility in New York. Micron’s fiscal second-quarter revenue grew 196% year-over-year to $23.86 billion.
