Micron Technology believes the surge in memory chip demand driven by artificial intelligence is only beginning. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra stated on the fiscal Q3 2026 earnings call that the memory industry has been structurally transformed by AI and that the company is in the early innings of significant innovation. He pointed to long-term demand from robotics, humanoids, and fully autonomous vehicles as additional growth drivers beyond data centers. Micron's sales rose 45% to nearly $41.5 billion in the fiscal third quarter, with adjusted earnings jumping more than 1,300% to $24.67 per share. The stock has gained 687% over the past year and trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 23, below the tech sector average of 37.
