Micron Technology IncAI memory demand strong; company launches venture fund to invest in AI.
Micron Technology stock rose nearly 2% in Friday's premarket session as investors weighed another sign of strong AI-driven memory demand. The memory chipmaker launched a $250 million Micron Ventures Paradigm Fund, its third and largest venture fund, to invest in companies developing AI models, computing infrastructure, enterprise applications and robotics. Lenovo CFO Winston Cheng told CNBC that memory demand remains high relative to supply, making availability more important than pricing, and the company expects the AI infrastructure buildout to remain strong for at least the next few years. Micron carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $1,537.50, and shares were up 1.65% at $965.50 in Friday's premarket trading.
