A Jefferies survey of 40 IT executives shows stronger 2026 spending intentions for software, cloud and AI, with Microsoft and Amazon screening well. Expected software budget growth is 6.2% in 2026, up from 4.8% in 2025, while cloud spending is projected to grow 10.1% and cybersecurity budgets are expected to rise 6.2%. AI remains a major priority, with 68% of CIOs now having dedicated AI budgets. Microsoft stood out as 85% of CIOs expect to spend more in 2026 and none plan to spend less, while AWS also screened positively with 56% expecting higher spending. Palo Alto Networks and ServiceNow also ranked well, but Adobe was the weak spot with a negative spending score.
