Microsoft CEO Nadella Calls Autopilot the Next Generation of Enterprise AI

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg used the Meta Connect event to unveil the Muse Charm, a standalone pocket device built exclusively for voice interaction with the company's new Muse agent, and to showcase a major shift toward what he called Personal Superintelligence. The hardware push also included the Meta VR Glasses, weighing just 100 grams, roughly one-fifth the weight of Meta's Quest 3, priced at $1,299 with 5K micro-OLED displays, tethered puck processing, and native eye and hand tracking. On the smart eyewear front, Meta debuted the third-generation Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses starting at an entry-level $249, alongside camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses designed purely for open-ear listening and AI voice interaction. Meta's Muse has amassed over 3.4 million downloads since its September 8 launch, according to new Sensor Tower data obtained by Yahoo Finance, accumulating 2.8 million downloads in its first two weeks, while ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude received 3.7 million, 400k, and 300k global downloads during the same 14-day post-launch period. Meta has added about $234 billion to its market cap in the past five days, and the stock is up over 40% in the past month.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the United States and China should establish shared norms on AI development and safety, including a direct leader-to-leader notification channel for cybersecurity attacks, as Chinese President Xi Jinping visits Washington to meet with President Trump. Speaking with CNBC's Deirdre Bosa at APEC, Nadella said both countries care about the same things: diffusing the technology so citizens get value and doing so safely, and that the more norms they set, with the US in particular able to lead, the better off the world is. Nadella also discussed Microsoft's new Copilot, which has about 30 million customers so far and rolls out in the coming weeks with three modes: chat, code, and Autopilot, an agentic mode connected to a user's apps, email, and workflows. He said trust will be Microsoft's biggest issue, pointing to Agent 365 as the company's fastest-adopting enterprise product for observing, governing, and securing AI agents, and warned that token costs mean the current level of subsidy cannot last, so customers must ultimately see return on investment. Nadella attended the state dinner during the summit, and Bosa said any direct US-China communication line emerging from the talks would be a positive step.

MeetKai announced a six-country rollout of its sovereign AI stack, built on NVIDIA AI infrastructure, across Brazil, Ukraine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, six countries home to more than 700 million people. In Brazil, MeetKai Brasil won SERPRO's public tender for the national sovereign AI platform with the highest overall score and is now launching it with SERPRO, including a sovereign coding agent for secure workflows. In Ukraine, MeetKai and Kyivstar, VEON's majority owned subsidiary and leading Ukrainian digital operator, will build a sovereign AI data center, the first national-scale AI factory in the country, with first capacity planned to come online in 2027 and a design expected to expand from 15 to 100 MW as demand from the public sector and Ukrainian industry grows. Across VEON's five markets, home to more than 150 million mobile customers and over 225 million digital customers, MeetKai acts as VEON's AI lab-as-a-service, beginning in Ukraine followed by Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, with each site operated by MeetKai together with VEON's local operator. MeetKai, an NVIDIA Inception member, is also expanding its work in Egypt with Smart Africa, building its AI stack on NVIDIA technology.
