Microsoft is cutting approximately 4,800 jobs, just over 2% of its global workforce, as part of a broader restructuring that includes a major overhaul of its Xbox gaming division. About 1,600 of the layoffs are in Xbox, with further reductions expected to bring total gaming cuts to around 3,200 this fiscal year, representing roughly 20% of that unit's workforce. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma described the division as operating at significantly lower margins than comparable platform businesses, stating it had been losing 64 cents for every dollar invested. Meanwhile, Micron Technology announced a long-term Strategic Customer Agreement with Ford to supply memory and storage solutions for increasingly data-intensive vehicles, aided by Micron's expansion of advanced DRAM production at its Manassas, Virginia facility. On the economic front, the U.S. ISM Services PMI Index came in at 54.0 in June, roughly in line with the 54.1 consensus and marking the 24th consecutive month of expansion, while the S&P Global U.S. PMI Composite Index was revised to 51.9 in June from the initial flash print of 52.2.
