Microsoft shares are now trading above their key 200-day moving average by the widest margin since October, according to Yahoo Finance AlphaSpace analysis. The stock is still lagging the S&P 500 year to date, notching a 4.7% gain compared to a 13% rise for the benchmark index. The move follows Microsoft's fiscal fourth quarter earnings, which saw revenue hit $90 billion, up 18% year over year, with Azure and other cloud services growth surging 43% and crossing the $100 billion annual revenue milestone. Operating income rose 18% to $40.6 billion, and the company returned $10.2 billion to shareholders via dividends and buybacks in the quarter. Profit estimates have trended higher since the late-July earnings report, and Bank of America analyst Tal Liani noted that revenue visibility is strong, suggesting upside to estimates.
