On the 7th, the Ministry of Finance released its foreign exchange intervention results for April to June 2026, disclosing that it carried out a total of 11.7349 trillion yen in intervention over three days. All were dollar-selling, yen-buying interventions. On April 30, it recorded 6.2787 trillion yen, the largest daily amount on record, followed by 780.2 billion yen on May 4 and 4.6759 trillion yen on May 6, in an intermittent response. Ahead of the intervention, on April 30, Vice Finance Minister for International Affairs Atsushi Mimura issued an unusual advance warning, and this marks the first time the number of intervention days and the daily amounts have been disclosed.
