MKS Instruments IncOpens new factory in Penang to support growing demand for wafer fabrication equipment

MKS Inc. has opened its MKS Supercenter Factory in Penang, Malaysia, a facility that will support growing global demand for wafer fabrication equipment. Located on a 17-acre site with approximately 350,000 square feet of built-up space, the project’s first phase is now complete, and upon full completion it is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs and represent a strategic investment of over RM400 million. The grand opening was officiated by Malaysia’s Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and attended by representatives from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and InvestPenang. MKS President and CEO John T.C. Lee said the new facility brings the company closer to customers and partners, enhancing its ability to deliver advanced semiconductor manufacturing solutions.
