Salesforce, CrowdStrike, and Okta all posted double-digit gains after their earnings beats, and Nvidia's Q2 results exceeded expectations with record revenues and guidance for the current quarter above $100 billion for the first time ever, at $108 billion plus or minus 2 percent. Nvidia shares are up another 6.5 percent in early trading, adding to year-to-date gains of 12.4 percent. Weekly jobless claims came in at 203,000, 5,000 fewer than expected, keeping near 60-year lows, while continuing claims fell to 1.78 million. The advance trade balance in goods for July widened to a deficit of $118.8 billion, the deepest since March 2025, as imports surged to $318.2 billion. Wholesale inventories rose for the sixth straight month, up 1.3 percent month over month, and retail inventories jumped 0.7 percent.
