Nestlé has announced an investment of 23 billion baht to build a new Nescafé production facility in Samut Prakan province, along with a modern distribution centre. The project has already received investment promotion from the Board of Investment. The factory will use AI technology, advanced automation systems, and robots. It is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2028 and create more than 520 domestic jobs, including engineers and highly skilled workers. In addition, the factory will use a large amount of local raw materials, such as coffee beans, sugar, and raw milk from Thai farmers, worth approximately 4.3 billion baht per year. This investment comes after the dispute between Nestlé and the Mahakij Sirisiri group ended, with the court ruling that Nestlé could legally terminate the joint venture contract, and Prayut Mahakij Sirisiri accepting the decision and paying nearly 6 million US dollars in court fees.
