NeurAxis announced new medical policy coverage from a major national health insurer for its Percutaneous Electrical Nerve Field Stimulation technology, a decision that adds approximately 18 million health plan members across multiple states. The company said the new policy lifts the total national coverage footprint for PENFS to more than 120 million covered lives. NeurAxis' proprietary PENFS technology, marketed as IB-Stim, is FDA-cleared for functional abdominal pain associated with irritable bowel syndrome and functional dyspepsia, including associated nausea symptoms, in patients 8 years and older. Chief Executive Officer Brian Carrico said the coverage win demonstrates tangible progress on the company's payer expansion plans and that NeurAxis is actively pursuing additional major national insurers. Carrico also pointed to a Category I CPT code effective January 1, 2026, and the inclusion of PENFS in leading national society clinical practice guidelines as foundations for broader physician adoption and commercial expansion.
