Nokia CorporationNokia opens its first Saudi R&D center for AI network automation, advancing its technology and supporting Vision 2030.

Nokia has opened its first research and development center in Saudi Arabia, located in Riyadh, to accelerate AI-powered network automation. The center will develop software for service management and orchestration, self-organizing networks, Autopilot, and rApps, enabling networks to self-configure, self-heal, and optimize energy use. This initiative supports Saudi Vision 2030 by creating local engineering roles and training programs, while also producing exportable 'Made in Saudi' technology. The launch follows an agreement between Saudi Arabia's Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Nokia's CEO Justin Hotard, and aims to contribute to global Nokia customers as well as explore AI-native 6G technologies.
