Nokia shares have skyrocketed 133% to nearly $14 since announcing a $1 billion partnership with Nvidia last fall to develop an AI-enabled 6G radio access network called AI RAN. The deal, which will see Nvidia provide AI chips and Nokia supply switches, software, and optical technologies for Nvidia data centers, has dramatically improved the outlook for the long-struggling telecom stock. Nokia raised its fiscal-year guidance after first-quarter earnings, now projecting network infrastructure sales growth of 12% to 14%, up from 6% to 8%, driven largely by the data center partnership. Revenue accretion from the 6G component is expected to begin in 2027. Despite the surge, Nokia trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 86 with a forward P/E of 36, and analysts are mixed with a median price target of $12.
