NVIDIA and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have launched a joint AI research lab at KAIST's Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI in Seoul, focused on advancing agentic AI for South Korea. The collaboration is worth $300 million and includes $50 million per year in compute contributions over an initial five-year period. The lab plans to fund at least 10 researchers annually and will offer internship opportunities at NVIDIA, with the company also aiming to hire Korean researchers for full-time positions. Priority will be given to developing models optimized for the Korean language and Korea-specific use cases, leveraging NVIDIA Nemotron open models to boost the country's AI capabilities.
