Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted that silicon photonics capacity is substantially below what the world needs, creating a new AI bottleneck in data-transfer speeds. To address this, Nvidia has invested $2 billion in Coherent, $2 billion in Lumentum, and $1 billion in Nokia, forming strategic agreements for access to advanced optical networking and laser technologies. Coherent's data center and communications revenue rose 41% last quarter, Lumentum's total revenue nearly doubled to $808.4 million, and Nokia's cloud and AI revenue grew 49% in the first quarter of 2026. All three stocks have more than doubled this year, though they face risks including heavy reliance on data center demand and intense competition.
