NVIDIA CorporationNvidia opens Alpamayo 2 Super for commercial use, a new AI model for autonomous driving.

Nvidia opened its Alpamayo 2 Super reasoning model for commercial use on August 4, targeting robotaxi and self-driving car developers. The model, part of the most downloaded family of open reasoning models for autonomous driving on Hugging Face with over 500,000 downloads, ships under the Linux Foundation's OpenMDW 1.1 license, allowing automakers and suppliers to fine-tune and sell products without additional permission. Nvidia says Alpamayo 2 Super beat Gemini 2.5 Pro by 15.1 points and GPT-4o by 23.2 points on the LingoQA driving benchmark and can output a full driving trajectory alongside a plain-language explanation of its reasoning. The launch comes as Nvidia's trailing 12-month revenue climbed 71% to $253 billion, with data center revenue up 92% year over year to $75.2 billion, and the company raised its quarterly dividend to $0.25 a share while authorizing an $80 billion buyback. Nvidia reports fiscal second-quarter results on August 26, with its stock trading at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 22.88 and hedge fund ownership rising to 275 funds.
