NVIDIA CorporationNvidia issued strong fiscal 2028 revenue outlook, boosting shares 8.7%

Nvidia shares closed up 8.7% on Thursday, boosting its market capitalization by $442 billion, marking the second-largest one-day gain in U.S. stock market history, after the company issued a strong outlook for fiscal 2028. The company's market value rose to approximately $5.5 trillion. This increase was second only to Microsoft, which saw its market cap surge by $450 billion less than a month ago, and was Nvidia's largest gain since April 2025, when its market value was less than half of its current level. Nvidia reported fiscal second-quarter 2027 results and estimated that fiscal 2028 revenue would grow by about 70%, higher than the 45% analysts had forecast. Bloomberg Intelligence noted that the better-than-expected revenue outlook suggests Nvidia could potentially generate more than $100 billion in revenue above current estimates. JPMorgan viewed the figures as potentially conservative, as Nvidia indicated that its revenue outlook remains constrained by supply-side factors.
