Okta reported second-quarter revenue of $805 million, up 11% from a year ago, beating analyst expectations and sending its stock up 20% in extended trading. The company delivered adjusted earnings of $1.05 per share, surpassing the forecast of 97 cents, while GAAP net income rose to $116 million from $67 million a year earlier. Subscription revenue grew 12% to $793 million, and remaining performance obligations climbed 17% to $4.86 billion, exceeding the anticipated $4.70 billion. Okta attributed the strong demand to the rise of AI agents, noting that new products made up 30% of total bookings and that it closed dozens of AI deals, including a multi-million-dollar contract with a healthcare company. The company also completed its acquisition of Permiso Security for around $200 million and raised its full-year revenue guidance to $3.22 billion to $3.23 billion, with adjusted earnings per share expected between $3.90 and $3.94.
