Q1 operating profit more than tripled and full-year forecast raised
Omron reported its first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, with operating profit surging 226.0% year-on-year to 18.8 billion yen, more than tripling. Revenue rose 26.1% to 209.8 billion yen, driven by the control equipment business capturing investment in semiconductors and data centers amid AI demand. External revenue for that segment grew 37.2% to 131.2 billion yen, and operating profit doubled to 21.3 billion yen. On the back of this strong performance, the company raised its full-year operating profit forecast to 80 billion yen, up 41.7% from the previous year. The healthcare business also saw growth in online sales in Japan and Asia.
