The Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association announced the results of a survey of game developers on the 17th, finding that 63.0% use generative AI in their work "daily" and 22.8% "occasionally," meaning more than 85% are making use of it. The survey was conducted online between May and August among game designers, engineers and others, yielding 1,349 valid responses. Among the benefits of adopting generative AI, "shorter production time" was cited most often at 1,083 people, followed by "greater work efficiency" and "expanded ideas." When those using generative AI were asked whether they incorporate its output into their products, 517 said it is "not implemented," 501 said it is used "only to assist production," and 285 said it is "implemented."
