PDD Holdings Inc.PDD Holdings reported a 12% drop in net income for the second quarter of 2026, even as revenue grew 8%. Net income attributable to ordinary shareholders came in at 27.18 billion yuan, or 4 billion dollars, for the three months ended 30 June 2026, while total revenues rose to 112.35 billion yuan. The increase in revenue was largely driven by transaction services, which grew 13% to 54.72 billion yuan, and income from online marketing services and other sources reached 57.63 billion yuan, up from 55.7 billion yuan a year earlier. Operating profit for the quarter reached 27.8 billion yuan, an 8% year-on-year rise. For the first half of the year, net income attributable to ordinary shareholders fell to 39.72 billion yuan, compared with 45.49 billion yuan in the equivalent period of 2025, even as revenue for the half-year rose to 218.58 billion yuan from 199.65 billion yuan a year earlier. The results follow a series of regulatory setbacks for Temu, including a 200 million euro fine from the European Commission in May under the Digital Services Act, a consumer fraud petition filed by Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird last month, and a statement of grounds from the European Commission earlier this month accusing PDD Holdings and its Irish subsidiary Whaleco of obstructing an inspection under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
