PepsiCo reported second-quarter revenue of $24.18 billion, a 6.4% increase from the same period last year, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $23.87 billion. Earnings per share came in at $2.20, compared to $2.12 a year ago and slightly above the consensus estimate of $2.19. Among its segments, PepsiCo Foods North America revenue fell 1.7% to $6.37 billion, missing the $6.54 billion estimate, while PepsiCo Beverages North America revenue rose 6.6% to $7.24 billion, exceeding the $7.16 billion estimate. International Beverages Franchise revenue grew 11.3% to $1.52 billion, Europe, Middle East and Africa revenue increased 9.9% to $4.98 billion, Latin America Foods revenue jumped 15.4% to $2.94 billion, and Asia Pacific Foods revenue climbed 12.2% to $1.12 billion, all topping analyst forecasts. Core operating profit in PepsiCo Foods North America was $1.37 billion, below the $1.57 billion estimate, while PepsiCo Beverages North America core operating profit of $992 million also missed the $1.07 billion estimate; however, International Beverages Franchise, Latin America Foods, and Asia Pacific Foods all exceeded profit expectations.
