Marvell Technology Group LtdPiper Sandler initiated Marvell at Buy with a $270 price target, citing its AI data-center role and Google TPU opportunity.

Piper Sandler initiated coverage of Marvell Technology with a Buy rating and a $270 price target, citing the chipmaker's expanding role in AI data centers and custom computing. Analyst David O'Connor said Marvell holds roughly a 10% share of the data-center components market, with established positions in digital signal processors and custom connectivity, and that its relationships with large cloud providers should support future demand for custom AI hardware and co-packaged optics. A major part of the thesis is Marvell's agreement with Google, with O'Connor expecting Google's TPU programs to begin contributing in fiscal 2029 and estimating the opportunity could generate about $18 billion in annual revenue once fully ramped. He also pointed to Marvell's work with Amazon and Microsoft on accelerator programs, saying the larger opportunity may be Marvell supplying custom XPU solutions to hyperscalers as they develop their own AI chips. The analyst expects Marvell's Oct. 6 analyst day to provide more detail on its long-term plans, and projects revenue reaching $45 billion by 2030 with EPS potentially rising to $19.
