Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5 launched to a franchise-record $160 million domestic opening weekend, powering the North American box office to an estimated $230 million, up 80% from the same weekend last year. The animated sequel played in 4,425 theaters and posted a per-theater average of $36,158, marking the biggest domestic opening of 2026 and the largest debut in Toy Story history. Globally, the film collected an estimated $312 million, including $152 million from international markets. The strong performance helped push year-to-date domestic box office revenue to $4.46 billion, up 14% from the same point in 2025, with summer box office revenue now running 15.2% ahead of last year's pace. Universal's Disclosure Day remained in second place with $17 million in its second weekend, while Focus Features' Obsession continued its strong hold with $14.2 million in its sixth weekend, bringing its domestic total to $215.8 million.
