Police General Samran Nualma, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, disclosed that the group of insurgents responsible for three incidents in Narathiwat province has now been identified, and arrest warrants are being prepared. He believes the fatal shooting of a road construction foreman in Si Sakhon district, the car bomb at the old police station in Mueang district, and the shooting that killed five paramilitary rangers at the Ra-ngae checkpoint in Ra-ngae district are connected. Meanwhile, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered the swift apprehension of the perpetrators. Police General Samran confirmed that officers were not negligent during the car bomb incident, and stated that response plans must be adjusted, even though the Provincial Police Region 9 commander has consistently worked with determination.
