Tesla IncPolymarket odds for Optimus 2026 launch fell to 9%, indicating reduced market confidence in near-term commercial demand.

Cryptocurrency bettors have significantly lowered the odds that Tesla will commercially launch its Optimus humanoid robot in 2026, with Polymarket now pricing a 9% chance of release by December 31, down 2% in a week and 15% in a month. The odds peaked at 33% a month ago. Tesla CEO Elon Musk reiterated his ambitious vision for the robot earlier this month, saying it could perform tasks from cooking and lawn mowing to babysitting and elder care. Tesla plans to spend more than $25 billion in 2026 on AI computing, robotaxis and Optimus, and is converting part of its Fremont facility into an Optimus factory targeting 1 million robots annually. Shay Boloor, Futurum Equities' chief market strategist, cited a Citizens Bank analysis projecting Optimus could target a $1.7 trillion U.S. labor market over the long term, with $300 billion serviceable in the near term, giving Tesla a massive advantage as the first customer.
