The global post-quantum cryptography market is projected to grow from a few billion dollars in 2026 to several tens of billions by 2036, according to a new report from Future Markets, Inc. The forecast follows the US National Institute of Standards and Technology's finalization of ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA as Federal Information Processing Standards in 2024, which turned post-quantum cryptography from a research field into a procurable, mandatable technology. The report highlights that while the algorithms themselves represent a small economic prize, the migration to them is a very large one, with services and integration spending expected to exceed underlying product revenue by roughly 8 to 12 times across the migration window. The total addressable market, combining products and migration services, is set to expand significantly, driven by the harvest-now-decrypt-later threat model and the anticipated arrival of a cryptographically relevant quantum computer between 2030 and 2040. North America is expected to lead the market due to the earliest and most prescriptive mandates, ahead of Europe and Asia-Pacific, with banking and defense anchoring near-term demand.
