Prime Minister calls urgent security meeting after 51 incidents in southern border provinces

The Prime Minister called an urgent meeting of security agencies after incidents were staged across the three southern border provinces at 51 locations on the night of 22 August 2026. The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward reported that the incidents began at around 8 p.m. and, as of midnight, there had been 22 incidents in Narathiwat province, 11 in Pattani province, and 18 in Yala province. Two members of the public were injured in Narathiwat. Officials are now rushing to inspect the scenes, secure the areas, and ensure public safety, while asking people to avoid the affected locations and report information via the 1341 hotline around the clock.
