Qatar has confirmed it is moving forward with coordination between the United States and Iran to bring both sides back to the negotiating table. Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Qatari officials speak by phone every day to discuss ways to bring the two sides back to talks. He also called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the Strait of Hormuz issue and for a return to freedom of navigation as before the war. Qatar also criticised the United States' economic sanctions on Iran as a unilateral measure, and stressed that Qatar prioritises resolving problems through diplomatic means, calling on all parties to join the mediation process led by Qatar, Pakistan and other key countries in the region.
