Qiagen NVCEO transition and takeover talks create uncertainty; potential acquisition could be positive or negative depending on terms.

Qiagen N.V. announced Monday that Jonathan M. Pratt will become chief executive officer on September 1, 2026, as the molecular testing company continues discussions with potential buyers. Pratt brings over 25 years of leadership experience in life sciences and laboratory technologies, most recently serving as president and CEO of Filtration Group, which he led through its sale to Parker-Hannifin Corporation in August 2026. He will succeed Thierry Bernard, who will step down as CEO and managing director but support the transition through the end of the year. Qiagen is currently in discussions about a potential takeover and has opened a data room for suitors to conduct due diligence, with EQT AB and KKR & Co. among firms exploring offers, according to a Bloomberg News report citing sources. The company reaffirmed its outlook for the third quarter and full-year 2026.
