Quantum BioPharma Ltd.Quantum BioPharma filed IND for its first-in-class MS drug Lucid-MS, advancing to Phase 2 with positive preclinical data.

Quantum BioPharma has submitted an Investigational New Drug application to the FDA for Lucid-MS, a patented first-in-class drug candidate for multiple sclerosis that targets the myelin sheath directly rather than suppressing the immune system. The company completed phase 1 trials with no safety or tolerability issues and is preparing to begin phase 2 clinical trials evaluating efficacy, safety, and tolerability in MS patients. Lucid-MS has demonstrated the ability to prevent and reverse myelin degradation in preclinical models, with results published in journals including the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and PNAS. Quantum BioPharma holds exclusive worldwide rights to the compound and has signed a binding letter of intent with contract research organization Allucent to execute the planned phase 2 trial. The global MS therapeutics market was valued at approximately $27.4 billion in 2024 and is forecast to reach $38.62 billion by 2030.
