Quantum Corporation has strengthened its financial position by eliminating all outstanding debt in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with no term debt or convertible notes remaining as of June 30, 2026, compared with $54.8 million in term debt and $90 million in convertible notes at the end of fiscal 2026. The company raised approximately $94.6 million in net proceeds from a private placement of about 10.6 million common shares, using $57.8 million to terminate its Term Loan Credit Agreement, while the convertible notes were converted into common shares and canceled. Management expects interest expense to be minimal going forward, down from $21.6 million in fiscal 2026 and $2.1 million in the latest quarter versus $6.5 million a year earlier. Quantum ended the quarter with $54.6 million in cash and equivalents, generated $0.9 million in operating cash flow versus a $16.9 million outflow, and posted revenues of $80.8 million, up 25.7% year over year on strong demand for ActiveScale and tape storage. The company faces competition from IBM, Dell's EMC unit, and NetApp, but its shares have surged 107.6% in the past month, and it carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
