Quest Diagnostics announced that Apple Health app users in the United States will be able to purchase a tailored laboratory test panel, including over 50 biomarkers, directly through the app on iPhone and iPad later this year. The integration, first announced by Apple at its September event, will allow users to schedule blood draws and biometric readings at one of Quest's approximately 2,000 patient service centers for $119. Results will appear within the Apple Health app shortly after testing, with Quest collaborating with third-party providers to review orders and discuss results at no extra charge. Richard Adams, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer at Quest, said the move aims to bridge clinical and consumer health, addressing preventive health needs for conditions like heart disease and diabetes that affect many American adults.
