The extensive ruling rejected all claims against Renault, following years of proceedings that included thousands of pages of submissions, dozens of expert reports and witness statements, and a trial lasting several months. Renault Group stated that the decision is fully consistent with its position that its vehicles have always been designed, engineered, and manufactured in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements. The company will now pursue the recovery of its legal costs from the large institutional insurers and hedge funds that backed the claims.
