China Resources Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical Co LtdNew mandatory label warning for all oral Ganmaoling preparations, including 999 Ganmaoling, may reduce demand and increase compliance costs.

The National Medical Products Administration issued Announcement No. 66, mandating a unified revision of the package insert for oral Ganmaoling preparations, explicitly stating that patients must not drive motor vehicles, vessels, or engage in high-altitude operations while taking the medicine. This revision extends the no-driving warning, previously only required for compound Ganmaoling preparations, to all oral Ganmaoling dosage forms, including granules, capsules, tablets, and teas. Relevant companies must complete the filing of the new package inserts by October 15, 2026, and replace the inserts and labels of already-shipped products within nine months after filing. China Resources Sanjiu, whose core product is 999 Ganmaoling, faces a test. Its 999 Ganmaoling Granules surpassed 2 billion yuan in sales in China's retail pharmacy terminal respiratory system Chinese patent medicine market in 2025, ranking first in the Chinese patent medicine cold and cough category for twelve consecutive years. China Resources Sanjiu's self-care business revenue in 2025 was approximately 15.111 billion yuan, down 14.67 percent year-on-year, and its attributable net profit in the first half of 2026 was about 1.672 billion yuan, down 7.9 percent year-on-year. Experts believe the new regulation will lead to structural sales diversion, and costs such as packaging material replacement cannot be underestimated.
