Roche announced the launch of AXELIOS 1, a next-generation sequencing platform powered by its proprietary sequencing by expansion technology. The platform delivers a unique combination of accuracy, speed, scalability and cost efficiency, enabling same-day whole-genome sequencing in research workflows. AXELIOS 1 is designed for flexibility, allowing laboratories of all sizes to handle everything from small-scale studies to large genomic projects on a single instrument. Roche highlighted collaborations with institutions such as Hartwig Medical Foundation and Broad Clinical Labs, as well as partnerships with 10x Genomics and Google DeepVariant, to support library preparation and analysis. The sequencing market is valued at 7.3 billion dollars and projected to grow at double-digit rates in the coming years.
