Rocket Lab successfully launched its Electron rocket and deployed its Pioneer spacecraft for the U.S. Space Force’s VICTUS HAZE mission, completing the end-to-end operation in less than 17 hours after receiving the order and setting a new record for rapid-response space missions. The company became the first contractor to deliver a complete Tactically Responsive Space mission package, encompassing spacecraft design, manufacturing, launch, and on-orbit operations. The Pioneer spacecraft was fully activated in 37 hours and 36 minutes, well ahead of the 72-hour target, and is now conducting threat-response simulations in low Earth orbit. Despite the milestone, Rocket Lab shares closed over 6% lower at approximately $100.29 and edged slightly lower in after-hours trading.
