Right Tunnelling Public Company Limited, or RT, has secured two projects from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, or MEA, with a combined project value of 1,109.65 million baht. They comprise the construction of the project to convert overhead power lines to underground cables on Srinagarindra Road, between Thepharak Road and Sukhumvit Road, with a project value of 1,090.50 million baht including value-added tax, accounting for the majority of the combined value of the two projects. The work will be carried out under the name of the Ungzaheng-Right Tunnelling joint venture, with the construction contract signed on 9 September 2026 and a work period of 1,080 days. The other project is a consultancy contract to assess damage and prepare improvement and repair designs for a 230 kV underground power transmission tunnel in the area of the Bang Kapi originating station to the Chit Lom originating station, with a project value of 19.15 million baht including value-added tax. It will be carried out under the name of the Right Tunnelling-The Underground Consultant joint venture, with the contract signed on 28 August 2026 and a contract period of 360 days. Chawalit Thanomthin, Chief Executive Officer, said the company plans to continuously take on new work, with its backlog as of 30 June standing at 4,755 million baht. The company also plans to expand the scope of its repair and maintenance, or O&M, work, and the consultancy contract secured this time is regarded as an initial step for preparing the terms of reference for the next stage of repair work. This represents an opportunity to leverage its expertise in tunnel work to expand into the O&M business in order to generate recurring income and support long-term revenue growth.
