Northern Data AGNorthern Data was recently acquired by RUM, adding GPUs and boosting the Quake AI platform.
Shares of RUM Group jumped 12.8% in afternoon trading as investors continued to digest the company's newly unveiled six-year, $13.7 billion GPU services agreement with a major U.S. cloud customer. The contract covers GPU services at RUM's under-development Maysville, Georgia site and includes warrants for up to 50.8 million Class A shares at $0.01 each that vest as the customer buys capacity. The deal follows RUM's recent acquisition of German AI cloud firm Northern Data, which added roughly 22,000 Nvidia H100 and H200 GPUs to the newly launched Quake AI platform. CEO Chris Pavlovski has stated that Quake AI will fiercely compete with specialized cloud providers, and this order serves as a major recurring-revenue catalyst to validate that pivot. RUM Group is up 62% since the beginning of the year, and at $10.33 per share, it has set a new 52-week high.
