Salesforce is betting that its $8 billion acquisition of Informatica will become a key growth catalyst as combined AI and data annual recurring revenues, including Agentforce, Data 360 and Informatica Cloud, surged 200% year-over-year to $3.4 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The integration enhances Salesforce's Data 360 platform with advanced data integration, governance, quality and metadata management, aiming to make AI agents more accurate and reliable. First-quarter total revenues rose 13% to $11.13 billion, and current remaining performance obligations grew about 14% to $33.6 billion, prompting the company to raise the lower end of its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $45.9 billion to $46.2 billion. However, Salesforce faces intensifying competition from Microsoft and Oracle, both of which are rapidly expanding AI capabilities across their cloud platforms and enterprise applications. Salesforce shares have fallen 37.3% year to date, and the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
