Salesforce.com IncSalesforce is in preliminary talks to acquire Listen Labs for ~$2B, a capital/M&A event whose 67x revenue multiple is questioned as hard to justify.

Salesforce is in preliminary talks to acquire Listen Labs for approximately $2 billion. Listen Labs recently walked away from a signed $125 million Series C term sheet led by Menlo Ventures that valued the company at $1.5 billion, signaling that the founders and their backers expect a strategic acquisition at a higher price point. The startup, co-founded in 2023 by Florian Jüngermann and Alfred Wahlforss, specializes in customer research automation, with an AI platform that generates survey questions, conducts audio and video interviews, and synthesizes the data into reports and presentations. Listen Labs generates approximately $30 million in annualized revenue, putting the proposed $2 billion price at a 67x revenue multiple, a figure a source with experience in Salesforce exits says is difficult to justify even in the current market for AI startups. The deal would be Salesforce's third major acquisition in 2026, part of a strategy of platform consolidation aimed at owning the entire enterprise AI workflow rather than relying on a fragmented ecosystem of point solutions. Listen Labs faces competition from Simile, which raised a $200 million Series B at a $2 billion valuation in late July, as well as Outset, Keplar, and Aaru, but has secured clients including Microsoft, Canva, Anthropic, and Sweetgreen.
