Salesforce.com IncSalesforce secures $1.6B VA contract for AI-powered workflow, boosting public-sector demand.

Salesforce has secured a three-year agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs carrying a total contract ceiling of $1.6 billion. The contract, announced on July 24, focuses on AI-powered workflow and service delivery through Salesforce's Missionforce unit, supporting patient triage, benefits verification, and care scheduling for the agency that serves more than 17 million veterans. The VA aims to reduce appointment scheduling times from an average of 28 days to minutes once modernization is fully deployed. This deal strengthens Salesforce's public-sector credentials amid rising federal cloud and AI spending, with the White House requesting $75.7 billion in tech funding for civilian agencies for fiscal 2027, of which Veterans Affairs is the top beneficiary at $12.2 billion.
